Emma Dean

Emma Dean is an imperfect romantic and passionate human-being who loves to write theatrical pop songs about love and the human spirit. She has performed in North America, Germany, Costa Rica and all over Australia, and has released over ten independent original albums. When Emma is not on stage, she can be found writing her own shows and choral arrangements for choirs and musicians, including John Farnham, Kate Ceberano and Katie Noonan. She is a passionate advocate of the magical healing qualities of group singing and proudly leads a colourful community choir called Cheep Trill which she considers to be her extended family.

“My passion is to help people find their own unique, creative voice! For the past five years I have been leading a community choir called Cheep Trill which now has over 185 singers. Each week we get together, united by our love of song, and sing in harmony. Through this simple yet powerful act, we celebrate our similarities, embrace and accept our differences, and try to find a sense of belonging and community. I have witnessed the most incredible transformations over my time conducting Cheep Trill and have seen first-hand, the power of ‘finding your voice’ and how the ripple effect of this can bring positive change to people’s lives. I am a fierce believer that we are all creative in our own way!” Emma

Tony Dean

Tony graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 2006 with a Bachelor of Music specialising in jazz drums. Since then, Tony has been a professional musician and has performed as a multi-instrumentalist across Australia, America, Costa Rica, Ireland and Scotland. Tony Dean also works as a music producer, choir assistant-musical director, and music educator.

As a singer and songwriter, Tony has written and independently released his debut EP, Whole Day. He also produces and releases original music in his recording studio, Tiny Dream Studios, for Brisbane based artists, including Emma Dean with her latest EP, Broken Romantics: A Vicious Song Cycle. Tony also helped record material for the closing ceremony of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Tony performs around Brisbane as an in-demand covers singer, jazz drummer/vocalist, and freelance studio musician. In 2019 he played drums with Glenn Shorrock during Queensland Music Festivals Help Is On Its Way mass-choir performance. Most recently he played drums and provided backing vocals for Emma Dean’s 2020 Brisbane Festival hit show Hot Mess Mama.

Tony is also the accompanist and assistant musical director of community choir Cheep Trill. This year with Cheep Trill, Tony helped release Computer Choir – an online worldwide choir, and Stories From a Shower Singer – a podcast for music lovers.
